North Augusta’s long-standing Halloween tradition, the 38th annual the Jack-O-Lantern Jubilee, attracted a large crowd on Saturday looking forward to the ferris wheel, live music, craft vendors and food trucks.

Fun in the aftermath of Helene
For one visitor, the fun has spanned across multiple generations – Terri Bolton was visiting the jubilee with her granddaughter Palmer, but said she has fond memories of bringing her daughter as a child also.
“I came a long time ago with my girls. Tthey danced, [they did] the stage activities,” she said. “The jubilee is nice every year. It has a lot to do and a lot of food, nice atmosphere.”
She said that for many, this event served as a sliver of positivity and normalcy after the events of Hurricane Helene.
“I think everybody was ready to get out,” she said.

Musical performances
The jubilee was a two-day event; its opening day on Friday included performances by Big Daddy Weave, a Christian contemporary band with opening music by Hannah Kerr and the Young Escape.
Saturday was headlined by 90s alternative rock band Everclear, with opening performances by an 80s tribute band, Guardians of the Jukebox.
Visitor Sharen Lynn said she was most excited to hear Everclear perform.
“It’s my era of music,” she said.
