At least seven massage parlors in North Augusta and Aiken were searched Wednesday in a joint operation between local, state and federal officials.
Six of those were in North Augusta, including GA AVE Wellness Massage on Georgia Avenue, according to Lt. Clay Swann with North Augusta Department of Public Safety. Officers were looking for illicit activity while serving the search warrants.
Possible arrests and charges are expected to be announced Thursday by the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division, Lt. Swann said.
The search warrants were part of a joint operation between the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, SLED, the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office and the public safety departments in North Augusta and Aiken.
