One dead, three hospitalized in early Sunday morning shooting

The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office and Coroner’s office are investigating an early Sunday morning shooting.

Deputies were called to Club 706 at 2623 Deans Bridge Rd. at 1:57 a.m. Sunday in reference to a shooting that involved four people. When deputies arrived, they found each victim had been shot at least once.

Kevin Xavier Coatney, 20, of the 2200 block of Sasser Lane, was transported to Augusta University Medical Center where he was pronounced dead at 2:44 a.m.  His body will be transported to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation crime lab for an autopsy, according to an email from coroner Mark Bowen.

Charity Anderson, 20, Katreona Luckie, 23, and  Tremaine Johnson, 24, are being treated at local hospitals.

The investigation is still ongoing, and no other information is available at thiks time.
