‘Tis the season for outdoor markets. For people interested in fresh produce and other goods, there are plenty of options.
In its second season, Boondock Farms is bringing back its second Saturday market and vendor fair from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 10.
“Our vendor fair features farmers and artists,” said Laura Russo Acosta, who owns and operates the farm with her husband.
The couple opened Boondock Farms at the former site of Jim and Lilie’s Golf Course in Jackson, S.C. last year after purchasing the property in December 2019.
The second Saturday market will bring in a variety of local products. Among the items available will be local honey, produce, locally-raised meats and health and beauty items made from natural materials.
Singer/songwriter Chris Ndeti will perform during the event as well.

The Augusta Market at Riverwalk returned March 20 with a variety of items including farm-fresh produce and locally-made food products such as Haute Doughnuts and fresh lemonade. In addition, there are multiple vendors selling items ranging from jewelry to home scents.

Mary Anne Symms-Schweser has been a vendor at the Augusta Market for several years. She operates a Scentsy business and was eager to get back to business.
“I have been pleasantly surprised at the attendance,” she wrote in a message. “We have had two very cold starts but that hasn’t impacted attendance. Last week, I had several Masters guests shop at my booth. They were all pleased with the variety of vendors and the location along the river.”

In Columbia County, the Evans Market is set to return at 9 a.m. Saturday, April 17 at the Evans Towne Center, according to the market’s Facebook page.
The market will be held on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. through September.
Music, shopping and yoga are all scheduled for the April 17 event.
In Aiken County, the Aiken County Farmers Market is the county’s oldest farmers market, according to the city of Aiken’s tourism website, visitaikensc.com.

The market is open year-round from 7:30 to 11:30 a.m. Tuesdays and Saturdays. The time of the year will determine what types of produce and goods are available, but vendors often sell produce, baked goods, meat, honey and dairy products.
The Aiken County Farmers Market is located on Williamsburg Street in Aiken.
