Palmetto star safety award awarded to SRMC from state agency

Savannah River Mission Completion (SRMC) has recently been honored with a safety award from the South Carolina Department of Labor, Licensing, and Regulation (LLR).

The Palmetto Shining Star Award was given to SRMC for their 2023 safety performance. LLR mission’s is to promote the health, safety, and economic well-being of the public through regulation, licensing enforcement, training, and education.

“SRMC employees foster and nurture the safety culture every day, and receiving this award shows others that safety is embedded within the company values,” said David Stavru, SRMC’s safety and health manager. “Safety is part of every activity and every decision.”

SRMC received this award for achieving a 2023 incidence rate that was at least 75% below the 2022 South Carolina average rate for the industry and for working over a million hours in 2023 without a lost time injury/illness.
