A party turned deadly in Girard, Ga. early Saturday morning.
Deputies are investigating a shooting that occurred around 1:40 a.m., according to Capt. Jimmy Wylds with the Burke County Sheriff’s Office.
They were called to the scene on the 200 block of Claxton Road where they discovered five people had been shot; one of them has died.
Wylds said they are working on identification, and more details will be released as they become available.
Girard is about 40 miles south of Augusta.
