Pedestrian struck by vehicle on Old Highway One

A pedestrian was struck by a vehicle on Old Highway One between Tobacco Road and Deans Bridge Road early Sunday morning.

According to the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office, a call came in at 1:13 a.m. about the pedestrian being struck by a vehicle. When deputies arrived, it was discovered that the pedestrian, who was wearing dark clothing, was walking in the middle of the road when struck by the vehicle.

The pedestrian was taken to the hospital and is in serious, but stable condition, RCSO said. The accident is under investigation.
