PGA Tour player Luke List and his wife presented a check for $250,000 to the Children’s Hospital of Georgia on Thursday, Dec. 7.

The donation was made possible by the proceeds earned when List won the RSM Birdies Fore Love charity competition during the 2022-23 PGA Tour season, and will go towards supporting the expansion of the Children’s Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, according to a press release from the Children’s Hospital of Georgia.

The RSM Birdies Fore Love competition awards the top player who accumulated the most birdies – or better – during the FedExCup Fall events, and gives the winner a choice of donating to children and/or family-focused charitable organizations, stated a press release from the Children’s Hospital.

The List family decided that Luke’s winnings would all go toward the Children’s Hospital of Georgia.

Their family donation was inspired by the Lists’ son Harrison, who was born prematurely on June 5, 2021.

After leaving the hospital, Harrison was soon readmitted due to a respiratory virus, and was intubated for two days, prior to spending two weeks in intensive care at Children’s.

“It means so much to me and my family to have this opportunity to give back,” said List. “We want to share our story just to have people know what they do here and how much they’re really giving and really change lives.”

Representatives from RSM joined the Lists to present the check.

Children’s Hospital of Georgia is home to the highest level (Level I) PICU referral center in the region, providing critical care to children suffering from trauma or critical illness.

“Their team of dedicated pediatric intensivists delivers round-the-clock care to more than 1,000 children annually. Currently the PICU has 14 private rooms to care for children,” stated a press release from the Children’s Hospital.

After the expansion, the hospital plans to increase their PICU to 22 private rooms.

Since RSM’s inception in 2018, the Birdies Fore Love competition has raised $5.25 million in donations for players’ charities, which has allowed over 85 organizations to experience player support.

Four players have also started their own foundations as a direct result of RSM’s Birdies Fore Love funds.
