Local nonprofit organization Band of Brothers partnered with the City of Augusta again, Thursday, to host the ninth annual Juneteenth Augusta Festival.

This year the festivities kicked off at the Exchange Club Fairgrounds on Hale Street, accommodating a crowd of hundreds throughout the day, with a roster of performers and more than a hundred vendors observing June 19, 1865, celebrating the emancipation of enslaved Americans.
