Photojournalism: Augusta Tree Lighting

Date: December 05, 2021

Pictures with Santa, ornament making, arts and crafts, rides on a train and performances from area schools led up to the big event Dec. 4 at the Augusta Common – the annual Christmas tree lighting.

Augusta Mayor Hardie Davis Jr. led a countdown from the stage. As soon as the lights came on, a fireworks display began with Bruce Springsteen’s “Santa Claus Is Comin’ To Town” providing background music.
