Photojournalism: Augusta’s St. Patrick’s Day parade

Date: March 19, 2023

Booming down Telfair and Broad Street, families members, college students and couples of all ages lined the streets to gather in celebration of St. Patrick’s Day on Friday afternoon, March 17.

With 130 entries last year, a wide range of parade floats from small businesses to city officials participated in this year’s event – causing the parade to run for two hours long.

As children shouted “candy,” adults greeted and waved to community friends and Irish American Heritage Society dignitaries.

Attendees traveled from several counties in the CSRA to partake in the lively celebration, and explore downtown Augusta’s local businesses.
