Brick Pond Park in North Augusta, located near the City of North Augusta Municipal Building and SRP Park, was once the location of many businesses and industrial facilities. These businesses were forced to move from the area due to severe flooding. Clay was dug up to make bricks at the plant, and the pits created became stagnant after collecting rain and floodwater. To make the area more suitable for wildlife, junk from the industries was removed, the ponds were connected, and a waterfall and native wetland flora were introduced. Now, it’s a beautiful park where citizens walk and fish. On days when SRP Park is hosting events, you can hear live music while visiting the ponds.
