AIKEN — The annual Earth and Sky Night was held Saturday at the Ruth Patrick Science Education Center at the University of South Carolina Aiken.

The event featured a variety of hands-on activities related to earth and space science.

Multiple live animals from snakes to alligators and owls were on display.

Also, people had the chance to view the night sky with help from members of the Astronomy Club of Augusta.

Several telescopes were set up on the center’s lawn and the Bechtel Telescope in the observatory was available as well.
