Last year, it was Ringgold that stopped Harlem from advancing to baseball’s Elite Eight by sweeping a doubleheader.

This year, the Bulldogs returned the favor and in the same fashion by defeating the Rams on Harlem’s home diamond by winning both games of a doubleheader Wednesday. The Bulldogs blanked the Rams 4-0 in the first game and took the second game 9-3.

It’s been a banner year so far for the Bulldogs. In February, Coach Jimmie Lewis gained his 800th career win.

The Bulldogs head to the next round of the Georgia High School Association Class AAA playoffs Tuesday and will host the winner of the Appling County-North Hall series.
