GRANITEVILLE — Rivalries usually produce good games and Friday’s match between Midland Valley and Silver Bluff proved that theory true.
The Bulldogs traveled into the Valley Sept. 2 and fought the Mustangs in a penalty-riddle game.
They went into the final quarter and the score was tied 20-20 with only minutes left in the game, but a Midland Valley touchdown put the Mustangs ahead 27-20.

It’s been a tough season so far for the Bulldogs who are coming off a high from the 2021 season when they went undefeated until they reached the state championship game where they lost to Gray Collegiate 49-14.
The Bulldogs have a young team this season after several key players graduated in the spring. So far, the team hasn’t chalked up a win in the first three games.
Meanwhile, the Mustangs are 2-1 on the season.
