More than 200 people attended the Bridge Ministry’s 15th annual Thanksgiving service Saturday under the bridge in downtown Augusta.

Each person received a meal and a coat.

Roger Gardner and his wife Kimmi, along with a small group of volunteers, began serving hot meals and providing basic life supplies to the inner-city poor on Saturday afternoons under the Calhoun Expressway on 15th Street in January 2007, according to the organization’s website.

“This opened the door for them to begin sharing the Gospel and restoring lives with love, hope and dignity,” the website said.
