A friend of mine named Ben Evans recently started as a bartender at The Indian Queen, a bar located at 2502 Wrightsboro Rd. in Augusta. I took some time to swing by and visit, mostly out of curiosity about the establishment I passed nearly every day on my way to class.

The bar gets its name from the Indian Queen Tavern in Bladensburg, Md., managed in the 18th century by Augusta attorney Peter Carnes. Carnes, after his escapades with hot air balloons and being sued for back rent on the Indian Queen Tavern by his brother-in-law, made the decision to move to Augusta and purchase a house in Summerville.
The Indian Queen that we know today was established in 2012 by Steven Moore, Brandon Mears and Ryan McArdle.
Porch Seating

The bar has seating on its front porch for those who prefer to get some fresh air or have a smoke while enjoying a few drinks.
Augusta Love
