Thousands of walkers in solidarity against breast cancer convened at the Augusta Common, early Saturday morning, to turn downtown pink.

The 25th annual Miracle Mile Walk began its festivities at 8 a.m., with hosts setting the stage as registered participants gathered at the starting arch way on Reynolds Street.

At about 9, the throng began the three-mile march throughout downtown.
The Piedmont Augusta Foundation, who organizes the yearly fundraiser, reached its goal amount of $350,000, all of which goes toward Piedmont Augusta’s Randy W. Cooper, M.D. Center for Breast Health Services and mobile mammography unit.
