Power Outage Affects Evans Area

Traffic lights are out in Evans due to the power outage.

Date: June 06, 2021

Around 7,000 Georgia Power customers in Evans currently have no power.

Officials say that apparently a snake made its way into a substation, tripping the system causing the outage.

Columbia County Sheriff’s Officers are directing traffic at affected intersections. Use extreme caution if driving near those areas.

Officials with Georgia Power hope to have power restored soon and insist that outages reported in Atlanta and Savannah are not related.
