Motorists are finding that areas of Riverwatch Parkway are down to one lane causing delays getting in and out of downtown Augusta.

According to Hameed Malik, director of the Engineering Department, during non-peak traffic hours, workers are replacing light bulbs and installing signs for Masters traffic.

“When they change out the bulbs, the inside lanes have to be closed down,” Malik said.

According to Malik, workers may also be changing out signs damaged in Hurricane Helene.

Due to a host of issues, including weather, the county cannot post exactly when and where traffic might be backed up, but those preparing to use Riverwatch Parkway should either allow for extra time or find an alternate route.
