With songs such as “She’s Gone” and “Kiss on My List,” Private Eyes, a Tribute to Daryl Hall & John Oates channeled the duo Thursday at the Jabez Sanford Hardin Performing Arts Center.
Presented by Augusta Amusements, the band features the two front men (Mark Wilson and Nate Beausoleil) and five accomplished musicians who do more than just back the singers.
APJ and Stephen Herring both play saxophone throughout the night and, on songs such as “Maneater,” there’s a bit of a saxophone duel in the high-energy show.

Besides playing Hall & Oates’ top hits, tidbits about the duo are thrown out during the concert.
Beausoleil who sings John Oates’ parts of the songs told a story about Daryl Hall in 1985 singing on “We Are the World” and having a conversation with Michael Jackson. Apparently, Jackson told Hall that it was a Hall & Oates’ riff that inspired Jackson’s groove in “Billie Jean.”
That was the perfect segue into Chris Willshire, the group’s founder, on bass playing “I Can’t Go For That (No Can Do).”
“Private Eyes, a Tribute to Daryl Hall & John Oates, was formed in 2018. Their mission was clear and precise: to deliver the timeless music from the best-selling duo of all time with a craftsman’s precision, as well as aiming for the visual blend of their classic late 70’s to early 80’s image. This Los Angeles-based band is one of only a few H&O tributes in the US, and the only one to feature album-accurate renditions of all the greatest hits, as well as some choice fan favorites,” according to the group’s website.
