The excitement of professional rodeo comes to Aiken this summer, as the Aiken Pro Rodeo prepares to shake things up on Friday and Saturday, June 20 and 21.

Hosted at the Western Carolina State Fairgrounds, located at 561 May Royal Drive, the event promises two nights of thrilling competition for world championship titles, according to a press release representing the upcoming rodeo.

Sanctioned by the International Pro Rodeo Association, the Aiken Pro Rodeo will feature eight events, including bareback riding, steer wrestling, saddle bronc riding, tie-down roping, cowgirls breakaway roping, team roping, cowgirls barrel racing and bull riding.

These events are key qualifiers toward the World Championship titles, making it a must-see for rodeo fans, according to a Aiken Pro Rodeo press release.

The gates to the Western Carolina State Fairgrounds will open at 4 p.m., with the rodeo kicking off at 7:30 p.m. each night.

Event-goers can also enjoy additional entertainment, such as a beer garden, food trucks, live music and a VIP section for sponsors.

Tickets cost $20 per day for adults and $10 for children aged 6 to 12, while children 5 and under get in for free. Tickets can be purchased online at AikenRodeo.com or at the gate (cash only; ATM on-site).

For safety and convenience, a security screening will be in place, and a clear bag policy will be enforced. Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult 25 years or older.

The Aiken Pro Rodeo is also offering sponsorship and vendor opportunities. For more details, visit AikenRodeo.com.
