Project Life hosted its Community Resource Fair on March 31 in the parking lot of it building on Gordon Highway.

The event was open to everyone and several community businesses partnered with Project Life in hosting the event. Project Life offered free food, clothes, health screenings, food stamps assistance, veteran services and mentoring opportunities.

“We are here during the week to give out food and clothes to those who are in need,” said Amy Maxwell, executive director of Project Life. “Everything is free. We made it a really nice atmosphere for people to be able to come in with dignity and feel like they have a store they can go shopping.”

The resource fair was setup to connect businesses and people from all around the community, said Maxwell. Local shelters, healthcare providers and the Richmond County School System were all present at various tables during the event.

“Project Life, I think, has hosted such a great event. Bringing together the community resources and making it available to the Augusta community,” said Hannah Meagher from SafeHomes. “Not many people know about the many organizations that are out here and the help that they have. I love that SafeHomes can be a part of this.”
