The Savannah-based company that owns the Parker’s Kitchen chain of convenience stores has two of the 15 petitions on the agenda for the Augusta Planning Commission’s meeting on Monday.
Drayton Parker Companies has submitted two rezoning requests to Richmond County Planning and Zoning.
One of the requests, made on behalf of a local liability company registered as DOC-MOB Augusta II, asks to rezone just over two acres at 3645 Wheeler Road from Agricultural and B-1 Neighborhood Business to B-2 General Business.
The address is currently the site of a vacant bank office building. DOC-MOB purchased the building from Wells Fargo in December of 2020, according to property records.
The second request by Drayton Parker is to change a five-acre lot at 1924 Barton Chapel Road from Neighborhood Business to General Business.
The company is currently making its away throughout the CSRA. The Columbia County Board of Commissioners recently approved PUD revisions and variances along William Few Parkway in Evans and Lewiston Road in Grovetown to accommodate proposed Parker’s Kitchen gas stations.
A company registered in Dawsonville, Ga. called Hetrip Unit, LLC is petitioning on behalf of Walter Tereshinski for a special exception on the latter’s one-acre parcel at 4495 Windsor Spring Road to allow the construction of a convenience store.
Likewise, Kesarinand 158, LLC, another company registered in Dawsonville, is requesting both a rezoning and a special exception to establish a convenience store at 3306 Old McDuffie Road. The company is seeking to rezone the parcel from R-1A One-family Residential to Neighborhood Business.
The Augusta Planning Commission will convene for its August meeting on Monday, Aug. 7, at 3 p.m.
