The final numbers are in for the annual iHeartMedia Cares for Kids Radiothon, and the event has raised $255,612 for Wellstar Children’s Hospital of Georgia.

The three-day radiothon saw the community come together to support the hospital’s vital programs and services.

“It’s been great,” said Catherine Stewart, director of philanthropy at the children’s hospital. “We’ve received a lot of calls, our volunteers have been busy. People have gone online and really have used a lot of the text to give promotions this year.”

Over the course of the radiothon, listeners tuned in to 104.3 WBBQ, 96.3 KISS FM, and 105.7 The Bull to hear stories of hope and healing from patients and their families.

Continued giving opportunities

The hospital’s a nonprofit hospital so we accept donations all year long,” said Stewart. Donations can be made at any time by calling (706) 721-4004.

However, donations can still be made through the radiothon website and the text to give option – texting CHOG to 51555 – throughout this week.
