Richmond County Cops Arrest Man in Friday’s Deadly Shooting Outside Red Crab

An Augusta man was arrested for murder and another was sought for questioning in Friday’s deadly shooting outside the Red Crab on Peach Orchard Road in Augusta.

Ray Terell Streetman, 24, of Augusta, was charged Monday with murder, aggravated assault and weapon possession. The shooting killed 31-year-old Ashaad “Shaad” Truitt of Miles Street and injured a 28-year-old Augusta woman, who suffered an injury to the right leg.

In addition to the arrest, authorities are seeking 30-year-old Albert Jennings for questioning in the killing. He is known to frequent the Wylds Road area and Waynesboro, according to authorities. Jennings is believed to be driving a newer model silver Ford Mustang.

No motive has been given for the shootings.

The murder suspect is the same Ray Streetman who was wanted for questioning for a May 2021 aggravated assault on Tamarind Way. There are no records that he was ever arrested in that case.
