RCSO seeks ID of man for questioning in beating death of homeless man

Suspect wanted for questioning in Oct. 31 murder

Richmond County authorities are trying to identify a man who is wanted for questioning in the Halloween homicide of a homeless man.

The man is being sought in connection with Thursday’s death of 59-year-old Michael Whitfield. The body of the homeless man was found Thursday morning at Elliott Park on Lumpkin Road, authorities said. He died from blunt force trauma.

Anyone that comes in contact with this pictured individual or has any information as to his whereabouts is asked to contact Investigator Ken Rogers or any on call Investigator with the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office at 706-821-1020 or 706-821-1075.
