At a Monday morning board meeting, the Greater Clarks Hill Regional Library Board appointed two interim directors to take the place of former Regional Director Mary Lin Manor temporarily. Manor’s resignation was announced at a Dec. 10 meeting

These interim directors are Angela Stanley and Ben Carter, both associated with Georgia Public Library Service (GPLS).

Stanley is the GPLS assistant state librarian for innovation and collaboration; Carter is the GPLS assistant state librarian for library development.

At the Monday meeting, Stanley and Carter were also appointed as signatories, a responsibility which falls under the regional director.

Regional Library Board Chairman Bill Tinley said that the pair will remain as interim directors until a permanent director is secured, something that doesn’t appear to have a definite timeline as of now.

Tinley said the process will include assembling a search committee to look for new representation.

“This is not something we’ve dealt with before, so we are in new, uncharted territory,” he said.

The next Regional Library Board meeting will be held on March 11 at the Columbia County Library at 11 a.m.
