Date: July 11, 2021

While students are enjoying their summer break, parents can begin preparations for the upcoming school year by getting their children registered, including kindergarten students.

School districts in Richmond, Columbia and Aiken Counties all offer online registration.

In Richmond County, parents can go to this website to register their students online.

Parents also have the option to complete registrations in-person at their child’s school. Parents must contact the school and make an appointment.

Information for kindergarten students is available here.

Any child who will be 5 years old on or before Sept. 1 is eligible to enroll in kindergarten. Only students new to the school district needs to register. If a child was in the RCSS Pre-K program, parents do not need to register their children for kindergarten.

Parents will need to provide documentation including a photo ID of the parent or guardian, proof of residency and the student’s age and an immunization certificate as well as a Georgia certificate of vision, hearing, dental and nutrition.

Columbia County parents can find information at this site.

Registration must be completed with documents submitted before the first day of school on Aug. 5.

There is a separate webpage for new students, including kindergarteners, found here.

Parents are encouraged to create a parent portal account. It will give parents one-stop access to all their children’s information, even if they attend different schools.

Required documents include two proofs of residency, the child’s birth certificate and immunization record. Parents also need an active email account.
