It was a packed house Monday as the Augusta University Birdie Club paid tribute to the 2010 and 2011 Augusta University golf teams.
The event marked the 10-year anniversary of the Augusta University Jaguars’ men’s golf team winning the National Championship for NCAA Division I in 2010 and 2011. The initial ceremony was postponed in 2020 and again in 2021 due to COVID-19.

The banquet also celebrated Broc Everett who won the Individual National Championship for NCAA Division I Men’s Golf. Everett captured the title in 2018.
Tables and chairs covered the Fieldhouse’s floor as gift bags were given out and food was served to the event’s guests. After dinner, two videos were shown reflecting on the men’s golf team’s championship victories in 2010 and 2011.
The first video reflected on the 2010 championship team that included Henrik Norlander, Mitch Krywulycz, Taylor Floyd, Carter Newman and future Masters Champion, Patrick Reed. They would go on to defeat Oklahoma State University in the final round, winning Augusta University’s first ever NCAA Division I Golf Championship.

The second video would reflect on Augusta University’s title defense as the Jaguars would once again make it to the championship round after taking down Oklahoma State once again, this time in the semifinals and on OSU’s home golf course. From there, the same game group of guys with the exception of Olle Bengtsson replacing Taylor Floyd would take down the University of Georgia in the final round securing back-to-back NCAA Division I National Championships for Augusta University.
The Ceremony would include a speech from Josh Gregory who was the coach for each of those national championship teams as well as Newman who was one of the cornerstone players for those units.

Later in the program Jack O’Keefe, the Augusta University Men’s golf coach from 2013-2022, would speak about Broc Everett. O’Keefe coached Everett during Everett’s individual national championship win in 2018.
O’Keefe would also stand up and give remarks on his accomplishment. The ceremony would honor him by giving him an official championship ring and unveiling a banner to hang in the rafters of Christenberry Fieldhouse to celebrate his national championship victory.
The members of the 2010 and 2011 championship teams would also receive smaller replicas of the NCAA Division I Men’s Golf National Championship Trophy.
