Rep. Rob Clifton sworn in, receives committee assignments for legislative term

ATLANTA – State Representative Rob Clifton (R-Evans) was sworn into office as a member of the Georgia House of Representatives on Monday, Jan. 13, marking his first day of the 2025-26 legislative term.

Clifton represents the citizens of District 131, which includes a portion of Columbia County, and said he is looking forward to improving his community.

“I am honored to serve my amazing hometown of Columbia County,” said Clifton. “I am very excited to get started working with my committees and my fellow legislators.”

In addition to being officially sworn in, the Georgia House of Representatives’ Committee on Assignments named Clifton to the Economic Development and Tourism, Interstate Cooperation and Transportation committees. 

The House Committee on Assignments, chaired by House Speaker Jon Burns (R-Newington), is charged with making all House committee assignments for the members of the Georgia House of Representatives.
