The health inspection world grades a score below 70 as failing, and one restaurant received a failing score from inspections on April 7-11.
Worst scores in this week’s health inspection
This week’s lowest health inspection score was a 57 earned by Asian Wok, located at 3607 Windsor Spring Road, Building B104, in Hephzibah.
During the inspection, the inspector noted observing food improperly stored, which resulted in a nine point deduction
“Observed raw meats stored over ready to eat food,” the report stated. “Ready to eat food should be stored over raw meats.”
The inspector also noted several foods being stored at an improper temperature, deducting nine points.
“Observed several TCS foods being held above 41 [degrees Fahrenheit]. All TCS food needs to be kept at 41 [degrees Fahrenheit] or below. Do not leave food out on counters and prep surfaces,” the report stated.
The inspector also deducted three points from the health score for noticing missing labels on food containers.
“Observed food in PTC and [walk in cooler] without prep and discard dates,” the report stated. “Food not in original container should have a prep and discard date.”
The second lowest score of the week was a score of 83 given to a Little Caesars Pizza, located at 3697 Windsor Spring Road, in Hephzibah.

“Observed TCS food inside prep top cooler above 41 [degrees Fahrenheit],” the report stated. “All TCS food needs to be kept at 41 [degrees Fahrenheit] or below. Install a new hatch door on the prep top cooler.”
The inspector also noted seeing bugs within the establishment, which resulted in a three point reduction.
“Observed bugs in stopped up drain and one bug crawling on the wall near the cashier,” the report stated. “Have certified pest operator treat the building.”
The restaurant was also docked three points for the inspector seeing bottles of sauce on the floor.
“Observed containers of pizza sauce stored on the floor,” the report stated. “Containers with food need to be kept at least six inches off the floor.”
Following the Little Caesar’s Pizza inspection, the third lowest score of the week was an 84 given to Tony’s Express Restaurant, located at 4471 Columbia Road, Suite A-1, in Martinez.
Throughout the inspection, the inspector reported observing multiple containers of food not being stored at the proper temperature, which resulted in a three point reduction.
“Observed equipment not adequately cooling all food items,” the report stated. “Ensure cold holding equipment holds food at 41 [degrees] and below.”
The inspector also noticed food being stored on the floor and deducted another three points from the facility’s score.
“Observed food stored on floor in walk-in freezer,” the report stated. “Ensure all food items are stored 6 inches above the ground.”
Finally, the inspector observed some equipment needing to be cleaned, and portions of the kitchen needing repairs, and another two points from the health score.
“Observed nonfood contact surfaces in need of cleaning (gaskets in coolers, vents, hoods, exterior of equipment.),” the report stated. “Observed floors, walls, and ceilings in need of cleaning and/or repair.”
