Golf has returned to the Jones Creek neighborhood.

The Practice Club at Jones Creek powered by Toptracer opened on Monday, April 3 with a ribbon cutting ceremony.

“It’s great, really pleased, it all came together finally…we’re really pleased with Toptracer, their support and getting the whole thing done in the community. It’s great. It’s good to see it open,” said Andrew Brooks with Bond Golf Global, who owns the facility.

Toptracer partnered with The Practice Facility at Jones Creek powered by Toptracer for the technology used at the facility. Alex Goodman, national sales director for Toptracer, was at the ribbon cutting and said it was nice to be part of the opening.

“Our goal is to grow the game of golf,” Goodwin said. “It’s to make sure that more people hit more golf balls and this is a perfect example of what’s possible in today’s environment.”

The facility has 16 bays, eight indoor and eight covered, along with two suites. Goodman said every bay, along with the grass tee, has Toptracer technology.

“It’s the same technology you see on every major golf broadcast here in the U.S.,” Goodman said. “So, every single bay you’re going to be able to get all your data, you’ll going to be able to play virtual golf courses, like Pebble Beach and St. Andrews or if you’re a kid and have your family out you can play Go Fish and have some fun.”

Also in attendance was Chip Brewer, CEO of Topgolf Callaway Brands, who was excited for the partnership and to bring back a golf facility to the area.

“It’s really fun for Topgolf Callaway to be part of that,” Brewer said.

Artie Starrs, CEO of Topgolf which owns Toptracer, said it was great to see the driving range come back to life at Jones Creek after the golf course closed in 2018.

“Seeing this beautiful driving range and golf course come back to life, and with the technology we have here at Toptracer, I think people are going to have a lot of fun and get better at golf,” Starrs said.

With the facility now open, Brooks wants to make sure people come out to use the facility and “put some life back at Jones Creek” along with opening a junior academy for youth who want to learn the game of golf.

“Kids could come out and play, we would like to get that fully funded and sponsored because it’s about getting people into the game.”

Following the ribbon cutting was the hitting of the first golf ball at the driving range, which was done by 13-year-old Cale Parke, who said it felt “amazing, incredible” to have that honor. He has been playing golf for approximately 18 months and can’t wait to come out to the driving range.

The Practice Club at Jones Creek powered by Toptracer is located at 4087 Hammonds Ferry Road in the Jones Creek subdivision. It will be open seven days a week from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., Brooks said. For more information, contact 803-477-6824.
