Due to significant damage to a traffic signal at Peach Orchard Road and Pepperidge Drive, Richmond County officials have announced an immediate partial traffic closure.

“… for the safety of traffic in this area, Pepperidge Drive has been modified to a right-in, right-out configuration,” stated a press release from the City of Augusta. “No left turns will be allowed at this intersection.”

City officials shared that the Georgia Department of Transportation is in the process of shipping necessary materials to reinstall the traffic signal. This process is expected to take the rest of the week, according to a press release from the city.

“Expect delays while accessing the Pepperidge subdivision,” stated a press release from the City of Augusta. “Please use the nearby signals and median breaks to make U-turns if necessary.”

For real-time updates, the City of Augusta is asking locals to follow the city’s Facebook and Twitter.
