Richmond County deputy jailer arrested for firing gun in her home

A Richmond County deputy jailer has been arrested in relation to a domestic violence incident involving her juvenile son.

According to the sheriff’s office Deputy Jailer Diane Maultsby was arrested for reckless conduct. She is accused of firing a gun twice in her bedroom on Melody Drive around 3 a.m. Thursday, striking the wall. The victim is listed as her 14-year-old son, but he was not injured.

She has been placed on administrative leave pending an Internal Affairs investigation. Maultsby has been employed and assigned to the jail division since November of 2001.
