Richmond County Disaster Recovery Center to close permanently on Feb. 28

ATLANTA — The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has announced that the Disaster Recovery Center in Richmond County will permanently close at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 28.

The center, located at the Diamond Lakes Branch Library in Hephzibah, GA, has been providing in-person assistance to disaster survivors.

The center’s current hours are 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, until its closure.

While the physical location will no longer be available, disaster survivors can still check their application status and update contact information through alternative methods:

  • Online at DisasterAssistance.gov
  • Using the FEMA mobile app
  • Calling the FEMA Helpline at 800-621-3362
  • Contacting the Georgia Call Center at 678-547-2861, available Monday through Friday

For those still needing in-person assistance, FEMA staff will be available at Small Business Administration (SBA) locations across multiple counties:

  • Bulloch County
