A Richmond County man whose 89-year-old mother was found dead at the home they shared and that was reportedly unfit to live in was indicted Tuesday, May 24 on a single charge of neglect of an elder adult.
The Richmond County grand jury returned the indictment against Louis Dipofi, 64. He is free on bond following his arrest Jan. 11 after the coroner called for a sheriff investigator after finding Isolde Dipofi had been dead for several hours before authorities were alerted. The home was littered with the waste of many cats and unfit for humans, according to an earlier report in The Augusta Press.
According to the indictment, Dipofi is accused of failing to provide substance, healthcare and shelter for his elderly mother which endangered her life.
