The Richmond County School System will open a temporary facility for Belair Middle School students until the construction is completed on the new site.
As the county prepares for the upcoming academic year, students will begin in August at the former Langford Middle School, located at 3019 Walton Way.
“Our priority is for students and staff to have a stable and focused learning environment,” said Superintendent of Schools Kenneth Bradshaw. “Our transportation, maintenance and school nutrition departments have worked tirelessly this summer to ensure a smooth transition for our students. Belair Middle School faculty and staff are excited to welcome families.”
To help prepare students for the first day of school on Tuesday, Aug. 6, the school system is encouraging parents and guardians to engage in two community events for the county.
On Monday, July 22, a Belair Middle School family information meeting will be held at 6 p.m. at Belair Elementary School, located at 3925 Harper Franklin Ave.
Within the premise of the temporary Belair Middle School, or the former Langford Middle School, an open house for Belair Middle School students will be hosted from noon to 6 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 2.
Belair Middle School will start its first day at 9:15 a.m. and daily bus transportation to the temporary school facility will be provided for all students.
