Richmond County School System Personnel Begin Receiving COVID-19 Vaccines

Superintendent Kenneth Bradshaw and 11 other Richmond County School System employees received the COVID-19 vaccine Monday through the Georgia Department of Public Health.

“We are so proud to have this opportunity to collaborate with the Department of Public Health in addition with Augusta University medical center,” Bradshaw said in a recording distributed by the school system. “This is an opportunity to vaccinate our employees.”

Governor Brian Kemp announced Feb. 25 that an expansion of Phase 1A of the state’s vaccination distribution plan included teachers and school staff.

Academy of Richmond County instructor Jennifer Wilson said she felt honored to be part of the first group to receive the immunization.
