The Richmond County School System has released the draft recommendation for the facilities master plan for the 2024-25 school year, which includes the details of the new school openings, new construction and improvements, and the proposed consolidations.

They are also launching a school locator tool. This tool identifies the proposed attendance boundary assignments for the 2024-25 school year, and it is an interactive website, allowing users to input an address or current location to search for school assignments.

Community conversation meetings will be scheduled for March 4 through March 11. Students and parents will have an opportunity to learn more about the proposed changes, to ask questions, and to engage in discussions.

The meeting dates, times, and locations are as follows:

  • March 4, 6 p.m. – A. Brian Merry Elementary, 415 Boy Scout Road, Augusta.
  • March 5, 6 p.m. – Spirit Creek Middle School, 115 Dolphin Way, Hephzibah.
  • March 6, 6 p.m. – Tutt Middle School, 495 Boy Scout Road, Augusta.
  • March 7, 6 p.m. – Richmond Hill K-8 School, 3420 Julia Ave., Augusta.

  • March 12, 3 p.m. – Central Office, RCBOE, 864 Broad St., Augusta.

Final decisions regarding the proposed changes have not been made. These meetings are part of the district’s commitment to be transparent and to involve the community. More information will be on the district’s website.
