Tomorrow, the Richmond County School System (RCSS) is looking to recruit employees for its open positions, including roles in the maintenance, transportation and special education departments and teaching.

“We’re looking for folks ideally that have all the certifications and are fully ready to step into the positions,” said RCSS Human Resources Director Kenneth Johnson. However, he added that those with a passion for children and education should still attend the event, even without certifications, to scope out the opportunities that are available.

How to prepare for the fair

The Walk-In Wednesday job fair will be held from 3 – 5 p.m. at the Richmond County Board of Education building located at 864 Broad Street in Augusta. Recruiters and hiring managers will be on-site to conduct interviews and discuss open positions.

Johnson said that anyone interested should consider bringing in extra copies of their resume and even applying to open positions ahead of the event in order to expedite the recruitment process.

He added that he always enjoys seeing “the fire” in the eyes of those who are passionate about education.

“I look forward to just seeing potential new partners come in,” said Johnson.

“Joining the Richmond County School System means becoming part of a team deeply committed to empowering every learner, every day,” said Dr. Melissa Shepard, Chief Human Resources Officer, in a press release. “That commitment extends to both our students and our professionals. We’re proud to offer rewarding careers with competitive benefits, opportunities for growth, and a collaborative culture where every employee helps shape the future of our 28,000 students.”
