Deputies gathered at 400 Walton Way, the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office building, at 2 p.m. to load boxes filled with turkeys and traditional sides before heading out across the county. Each family was selected by deputies who encountered them throughout the year and recognized a clear need.

Richmond County Sheriff Gino Brantley said the effort reflects the department’s ongoing commitment to serving beyond enforcement duties.

“It is very important we show the community we are just more than law enforcement,” said Brantley when asked about the importance of this food drive. “We are here to help people meet their needs.”

Brantley also noted that the effort will provide full Thanksgiving meals to about 25 families across Richmond County.
