Richmond County Sheriff’s Office investigates two weekend shootings

The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office reported two weekend shootings.

One took place at 5:39 p.m. April 10 not far from The Augusta National.

Officers responded to Washington Road near Alexander Drive in reference to gun shots fired from a vehicle. Upon arrival, deputies determined that a black Ford Crown Victoria was chasing a silver vehicle when the driver of the black Ford Crown Victoria fired at least two shots at the silver car.  

Deputies were able to locate and arrest the driver of the black Ford Crown Victoria. 

Kelvin Taylor, 29, will be charged with aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime. This incident is not Masters related, according to an email from Sgt. Caleb Lee, with the public information office.

No incident report or  booking photo available at this time.  No further information will be released due to the active investigation.

At 2:50 a.m. April 10, deputies responded to Broad and 10th Street in reference to shots fired and one victim down. Upon arrival, deputies located a black male victim with at least one gunshot wound to his neck. The victim was transported to the hospital where he is listed in critical condition, according to an email from Lee.

Investigators were made aware of a second gunshot victim, black male, who drove himself to the hospital and he is listed in stable condition.
