Victim identified in Monday’s hit and run

Jerry Brandon McKinnon has been identified as the victim of a hit and run Monday in Augusta.

The 38-year-old Sardis, Ga. resident was hit by a vehicle in the 2700 Block of Coleman Avenue. He was pronounced dead at 3:24 p.m.

The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Division is on the scene of a hit and run pedestrian fatality. An adult male was found dead on the side of the roadway in the 2700 block of Coleman Avenue Monday, according to an email from the sheriff’s office.

The Richmond County Coroner was called to the scene at 2:27 p.m. An email from coroner Mark Bowen called the incident a hit and run.

This investigation is active and no other information is available at this time.
