Richmond County Sheriff’s Office is currently searching for four individuals for various crimes.
Erin Smith, 23, and Joquel Downs, 28, are both wanted for forced robbery outside of Lulu’s Car Wash at 1462 Jackson Rd. on Thursday, Nov. 17.
According to a police report provided by Richmond County Sheriff’s Office, Kanyah Wright, 20, informed Richmond County police that she and Smith got into a verbal argument when Smith told Wright she had something that belonged to her. Smith then tried to grab her purse that contained $465. As Wright resisted, Smith sprayed her with mace as Downs snatched the purse and the two drove off in the red Kia Rio.
Wright told officers she has no idea why Smith stole her money. A BOLO was issued for Smith and Downs. Wright was also transported to the Charles B. Webster Detention Center for an active warrant she had through Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office
Douglas Rickerson, 54, is also wanted for possession of heroin with intent to distribute.
According to the Richmond County police report, Rickerson was driving a red 2000 Chrysler Concorde traveling south on Gordan Highway at Barton Chapel on Wednesday, Nov. 9 when two officers observed him run a red light, nearly causing a collision. The officers followed the vehicle to the intersection of Gordon Hwy and Milledgeville Rd. where Rickerson did a u-turn heading northbound on Gordon Highway.
Officers proceeded to turn on emergency lights and sirens and stopped Keith in the parking lot of a Sprint Food Store at 2022 Gordon Hwy. The officers observed the driver, front seat passenger, and right rear passenger frantically moving throughout the vehicle before coming to a complete stop. They also saw the rear right passenger attempting to leave the vehicle. Officers said Rickerson was combatant and refused to follow commands as they put handcuffs on him.
Once Rickerson was handcuffed, officers proceeded to pat down Charles Welcher, 54, where they found a glass crack pipe in his right pants pocket. Welcher was then placed in handcuffs as well. Officers then proceeded to pat down the Clifford Finch, 59, and place him in handcuffs.
Officers found a cigarette pack in Rikerson’s left jacket pocket, and inside were two clear mini plastic bags with .1g and .7g of heroin. Officers then search his vehicle where they found a black bag under the driver’s seat containing a black digital scale and multiple clear baggies for distribution. After the officers conducted a positive field test, Rickerson was released to Doctor’s Hospital for medical attention.
