Columbia County has announced a temporary road closure in the Evans Towne Center area for the annual Summer Beach Blast event.

Antebellum Way will be closed to all traffic from 10 a.m. until midnight on Saturday, June 7, according to a press release from Columbia County.

This road closure is aimed at enhancing safety by reducing pedestrian and vehicle conflicts as foot traffic in the area is expected to be exceptionally high, particularly during peak times of event arrival and departure.

Drivers are urged by county officials to remain vigilant and adhere to all traffic control signs and devices, and follow any instructions provided by law enforcement officers on site.

Pedestrians are strongly encouraged to also use designated crosswalks or intersections with marked pedestrian crossings, and to exercise caution when moving through the event area.

With large crowds expected, especially children, officials are asking drivers to be alert and expect potential pedestrian movement in the roadway.

For more information on event logistics and traffic updates, please follow local traffic advisories and Columbia County’s social media accounts.
