The annual Rock Fore! Dough concert is back for its 17th year, but in a virtual format.

On April 6, Luke Combs, Darius Rucker, Jake Owen, Josh Kelley and Drew Holcomb will be featured in the event. These aren’t recycled performances the organizers pulled off YouTube, but they are unique to this livestream.

“These are special recordings. They did a live set for us,” said Emily Stevenson, with Gluestick Music which organizes the annual event.

As much as they wanted to have a live event, Stevenson said it wasn’t feasible.

The concert is a fundraiser for First Tee – Augusta, which is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year. A live event would’ve meant fewer numbers of concertgoers and less money raised for First Tee – Augusta’s programs, she said.

The artists are providing their time and talent to make this event a success.

“Some have played Rock Fore! Dough before,” she said. “We’re super grateful they want to do it.”

Rock Fore! Dough concerts have generated more than $1.65 million in its history for the organization that “enables kids to build the strength of character that empowers them through a lifetime of new challenges. By seamlessly integrating the game of golf with a life skills curriculum, we create active learning experiences that build inner strength, self-confidence and resilience that kids can carry to everything they do,” according to a news release.

The concert will be aired at 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at facebook.com/RockForeDough/. Cash and Dub from Kicks 99 will be the emcees live at First Tee – Augusta and will be joined in person by local singer/songwriter John Krueger and Jill Brown of First Tee – Augusta.

While the concert itself is free, organizers hope people will make donations to First Tee Augusta.

“We will have some great donation incentives like T-shirts, tickets to the 2022 show, VIP packages, autographed items and more,” the news release said.

To celebrate its 20th anniversary, First Tee – Augusta will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday for Free Range Friday. Anyone attending is asked to observe the First Tee – Augusta dress code which bans denim, T-shirts and leggings. A golf club will be provided.
