Richmond County Sheriff’s Office Chief of Staff Lewis Blanchard has been selected as the new chief of police in Lynn Haven, Fla.
The Lynn Haven City Commission approved the appointment Tuesday night. On Wednesday, Blanchard issued the following statement:
“I am deeply honored and grateful to have been selected unanimously by the Mayor and Commission as the next Chief of Police. I am excited for this next chapter and the opportunity to serve the City of Lynn Haven with integrity, professionalism, and a strong focus on community trust.
At the same time, leaving Augusta is bittersweet. I will greatly miss the Augusta community, Sheriff Brantley, and the dedicated men and women of the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office. Sheriff Brantley is a true leader who genuinely cares about people, culture, and the future of the agency and the city. He is doing outstanding work, and I am proud to have served alongside such an exceptional team, and I will continue giving 100% to Augusta-Richmond County for the next five weeks.
I look forward to continuing to follow the positive leadership and progress happening in Augusta while bringing that same commitment, energy, and servant leadership to Lynn Haven, Florida.”
