The Salvation Army Kroc Center of Augusta is teaming up with Queensborough National Bank & Trust Co. to collect candy donations for this year’s Kroc Fest, a free community event taking place Saturday, Oct. 25, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Residents are encouraged to drop off unopened bags of candy at any of the following Queensborough branches: West Augusta, Tobacco Road, Fury’s Ferry, or Grovetown.

Donations can also be made directly at the Kroc Center, located at 1833 Broad St. The candy drive runs through the end of the week, according to a press release from the Salvation Army Kroc Center of Augusta.

Kroc Fest, held in Augusta’s historic Harrisburg neighborhood, will feature trunk-or-treating, games, bounce houses, food trucks, and character appearances — all at no cost to attendees.

“Kroc Fest is all about community; neighbors coming together to celebrate, connect, and bring joy to local families,” said Major Jonathan Raymer, area commander for The Salvation Army of Augusta. “Each bag of candy represents a moment of happiness for a child, and we’re grateful to everyone who’s helping make that possible.”

Queensborough National Bank & Trust Co. is also proud to take part in the effort, according to a press release from the Salvation Army Kroc Center of Augusta.

“Queensborough is proud to support The Salvation Army’s mission and partner in a way that brings families together,” said Nick Blume, Augusta Region Manager for Queensborough National Bank & Trust Co. “Our team is excited to play a part in creating lasting memories for children across the CSRA.”

Families are invited to enjoy the festivities at Kroc Fest on Saturday and are encouraged to contribute candy donations before the week’s end to help make the event a sweet success.
