The Salvation Army of Augusta has launched its 2025 Angel Tree program, aiming to provide Christmas gifts and essential items to more than 1,200 children across the region.

This year’s effort will support roughly 500 local families, according to a press release from the Salvation Army of Augusta.

Angel Tree tags, which include a child’s wish list, are available at several locations: the Salvation Army Kroc Center on Broad Street, New Moon Café downtown, Panera Bread locations in Augusta, Evans and Grovetown, and Augusta Mall.

Beginning Nov. 24, tags will also be offered at the Evans Walmart Supercenter on Washington Road and the North Augusta Walmart Supercenter on Knox Avenue.

Community members who select a tag are asked to return purchased gifts to the Kroc Center by Dec. 9. The Salvation Army has also created an online Walmart registry for those who prefer to give virtually, allowing items to be shipped directly for distribution.

“When you adopt an Angel, you’re doing so much more than giving a gift,” said Major Jonathan Raymer, area commander for The Salvation Army of Augusta. “You’re helping a child feel valued at a time when their family may be struggling. That act of kindness makes a tremendous difference — and we see the impact every single year.”

The organization is also seeking volunteers to assist with preparation and distribution.

Those interested can register at salvationarmyaugusta.org.
